When you become a parent, you dream of what your child will be…an athlete, a businessperson, an actor, a doctor. You imagine happiness and success. Many people tell you that being a good parent is one of the most frustrating, exhausting, overwhelming, scary, joyous, thrilling, and moving experiences in your lifetime. It is also one of the most rewarding. You have never loved anyone in the same way as your child. You also have never flown by the seat of your pants so often while trying to do your best. Second guessing come with the experience. Whether you are parenting as a couple or a single parent, good communication and collaboration are be necessary.
My experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist, a parent, and a teacher has given me a unique perspective and insight into how families may work or not work. I empathize with your challenges and can help you see the light at the end of the tunnel. Ignoring a situation will not help and may cause more lasting damage. I help you evaluate and decide what is best for your family. Together, we will start defining reasonable boundaries and strengthening your inner resolve.
